We hardly ever have to... wait, usually less than 5 minutes. They are wonderful during the consultation, they lay everything out there so there are no hidden costs, and have a variety of payment plans. They let you know the expected time for treatment and everything that needs to be done. They involve my daughter with decisions she can make (rubber band choices, etc.) and they explain everything they are going to do before they do it. My daughter is a new patient with VanLaecken. She had an appliance put in yesterday and was experiencing discomfort today. She seemed so upset about it that I called the after hours help... line when the office didn't answer, forgetting that it was Good Friday. I emphasized that it wasn't an emergency but was calling for advice. The woman who responded to my call was unbelievably gracious. Rather than rushing through my call, to my surprise, she offered to meet us at the office immediately to examine my daughter's mouth and see if there was something she could do to make her more comfortable, to avoid having to wait over a long holiday weekend. Within 10 minutes my daughter was in the chair and she immediately adjusted her appliance. (It's several hours later and her mouth feels great -- problem solved.)I'm frankly blown away by the kindness and concern I experienced today. We're new to town and could never have imagined this happening at the orthodontist we saw in the past. Everyone in the office has been so warm as well, alleviating my daughter's anxiety during the visits. The orthodontist came out personally to discuss her treatment with me in the waiting room at the last appointment. At our prior orthodontist I spoke primarily with the technicians -- the orthodontist was frequently rushing from patient to patient without much time to brief parents. I really appreciate the professionalism and personal care my daughter and I have experienced at VanLaecken.read more
